Disneyland Summer Tips

Here are some of our favorite Disneyland Summer tips:

  1. Arrive Early or Stay Late: Get to the park before it opens or plan to stay until closing. The first few hours after opening and the last few hours before closing tend to be less crowded.
  2. Use Genie+ and Lightning Lane: Invest in Genie+ to maximize your time. It allows you to reserve access to certain attractions, reducing wait times significantly.
  3. Mobile Ordering for Food: Use the Disneyland app to order food in advance. This can save you time waiting in line at popular dining locations.
  4. Stay Hydrated and Cool: Bring a refillable water bottle and take advantage of water fountains. Wear light, breathable clothing and take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. Save money by bringing your own drinks!
  5. Plan for Parades and Shows: These events attract large crowds. Either plan to watch them from a strategic spot or use this time to visit popular rides with shorter wait times.

  1. Single Rider Lines: If you don’t mind splitting up from your group, use the single rider lines for faster access to certain attractions.
  2. Take Midday Breaks: The park is busiest and hottest around midday. Consider returning to your hotel for a rest or explore indoor attractions during this time.
  3. Pack Essentials: Bring sunscreen, hats, and portable fans to stay comfortable. A small backpack with snacks and other necessities can also be very useful.
  4. Know the Park Layout: Familiarize yourself with the park map and plan your route to minimize backtracking. This saves time and reduces walking in the heat.
  5. Be Flexible: Have a general plan but be ready to adapt. If a line is too long or a ride breaks down, move on to the next activity and circle back later.
